Personal Interests

In her free time, Dr. Borens enjoys spending time with her husband and son. They enjoy watching sports, especially football and basketball, and tailgating. She loves working out with her Camp Gladiator family, and visits home to South Louisiana to enjoy huge Cajun/Creole family events.


Born in Lafayette, La and raised in Baton Rouge, La, Dr. Borens graduated from Louisiana State University with an undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences and minor in Biology. She then pursued her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, La. Dr. Borens returned home to Baton Rouge to complete her residency with Louisiana State University School of Medicine where she served as Administrative Chief Resident in her final year. At graduation, she received The Golden Award for recognition as an Outstanding Resident.

She chose the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology because of her passion for women’s health. Dr. Borens believes that strong, healthy women lead to healthy families which are important for our community. She enjoys the continuity of care she is able to deliver throughout a woman’s life. She understands her role as a counselor and educator in the intimate relationship between a female and her OBGYN. She always strives for excellence in the care given to each patient.
